Mackerel fillets and sumac

Ingredients for 4 people

  • 8 mackerel fillets

  • 1 organic lemon

  • Half a teaspoon of sumac

  • 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil

  • Half a glass of water

In a pan, put the water, oil and the juice of half a lemon. Heat and add the fillets. Cook two minutes on each side. Remove from heat and sprinkle the fillets with sumac and grated lemon zest.

Sumac (or sumac) is a spice with a fresh and acid flavour widely used in Middle Eastern cuisine for its anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antimalarial properties and as a remedy for gastrointestinal disorders and fever
